SEAL: New beginnings and the feelings we have

We worked in the school garden. We discussed a story about a boy called Sami. He was from a different country and had lots of mixed feelings about starting a new school in a new country.

We wrote down all the feelings we though Sami would feel.

What do you think he would be feeling?
What could he do to make himself deal with these feelings?

  1. Dear Year 4,

In our classroom we have a board full of big words to use as we talk about feelings. These are some of the words from our board that might describe Sami: apprehensive, nervous, morose, melancholy, jittery and excited. We think if Sami talks to other people about how he is feeling he will feel better.

    Your friends,
    Mrs. Hamman's Class
